Slavery of another kind

What is going on today is nothing more than modern day slavery with out the chains and whips.

I believe that all of the government entitlement programs we have today have turned us into slaves. The government now takes our money and property from us whenever they want in the form of penalties, fees and taxes. The government is taking away our choice in housing, health care and freedom to travel.
What is slavery?
It is a condition where you owe your very existence to another person or organization. It is a condition where you have no choices that are not provided by the slave master. It is a condition where you give up your freedom or your freedom is taken away by the slave master. It is a condition where your meager existence (where you live, what you eat, and the clothes on your back) are provided by the slave master.
If we look at the history of African American and slavery we may see that many things have changed but many have stayed the same.
Prior to slavery the Africans were free just as all people should be.
They had the freedom to raise a family. They had the freedom to have a business, to raise crops, to have herds of animals for their own property. They had the freedom to build and have a home of their own. They had the freedom to sell or trade their property with others in the community and if they were wise traders, farmers and herders, they had the freedom to become wealthy. They had the freedom to keep their wealth or give it away. It was theirs. They earned it from the work that they chose to perform. No one else owned the product of their work or was entitled to it.
Then the Arabian/Spanish slave traders came with their guns and horses and kidnapped these freedom loving people. They were taken away from their homes. Their property stolen. They were no longer a free people but were now property of another, just like the herds they once owned were there property.
These African slaves were brought to the Americas in chains and forced to work for their masters for no pay. The reward for their hard work was more hard work and the whip.
Many were removed from their original families. Children were taken from mothers and sold. Wives were taken from husbands and sold. Some were made into new families that the Master put together because he needed a better breed.
Here is where we get into the similarities with today's modern slavery to the government.
Master provided housing. Not the best, but he did provide housing.
Master provided food. Not the best, but it kept you alive and well enough to work.
Master provided education in the Christian faith.
Master provided clothing.
Master provided health care. He had to because a sick slave was a non-productive slave.
Master provided reproductive health care in the form of a mid-wife and if the new born wasn't healthy he provided for the disposal of new born's body.
Master provided transportation when it benefited him.
Master even provided some slave more privileges by moving them into the Masters house.
Master even provided some with sex education by having young slaves as his sex toys.
Master provided for all you needs but not your wants.
The slave's only motivation to work was the whip.
The slave's only freedom depended on what the Master allowed.
Then freedom came after the Civil War.
Many slaves didn't know what freedom was and continued to work for Master.
Many were taken advantage of by people that just wanted to use them for there own gain.
Then slowly the Government stepped in to fill the void. But some in government stepped in to futher their own careers and increase their power.
Promises were made to these new free people.
Promises of land and mules to work the land.
Promises of free education.
Promises of free or low cost housing.
Promises of free or low cost food.
Promises of free or low cost health care.
Promises of reproductive health care. (abortions)
Promises of cheap transportation.
These promises were made to keep these people happy and to increase the power of the new Masters in government.
The problem with all of these promises is that for each one you have to give up a little more of you freedom in order to recieve them.
Not everyone qualified for the 40 acres and a mule.
Education provided is not the best.
Housing comes in the form of blocks and blocks of HUD projects with no businesses around to employ the occupants. Or the lie of "Affordable housing" for people that don't make enough money to qualify for the home loan and then default on the mortgage after running up all kinds of credit that they can't afford either.
The food assistance provides enough to keep you coming back for more free stuff but you'd rather have the freedom to eat where and what you want to eat. WIC and Food stamps to buy generic brand foods.
Health care comes in the form of clinics with long lines and sick people passing germs around or visits to to the emergency room because you don't have a personal doctor.
Reproductive health comes in the form of Planned Parenthood which considers abortion and health care. A place where more blacks are killed annually then any other place in the country.
Every thing that the government provides comes with strings attached. They want your vote so that they can stay in power and in the Master's house.
They don't care anymore about you than the Master did.
The more they give to you in entitlements the more freedom you loose. Eventually you are working for the new Master that lives in the big White house.
The biggest lie is that you have been tricked into thinking he is one of you because he has the same color skin.
When will you learn the meaning of MLK's words that you should be judged by the content of your character and not the color of your skin.
Freedom is more than getting free stuff from the Goverenment or the Master. Freedom is the ability to choose your future on your terms by using your God given abilities.
Freedom is not something that you earn from the governmnet. Freedom is not something that you should easily give up in exchange for some temporary benefit.
Giving up freedom makes you a slave to the provider of the entitlements.
Many people make light of the fact that Obama has a brother living in a hut in Kenya. I'll tell you something. His brother is freer than most of the blacks in America. He has his own hut,his own farm, his own animals and within his community he is respected. Freedom is not about mansions or limos or diamonds. It's simply not owing anything to anyone but yourself and God.
