Green industries?

I keep hearing about green jobs and green industry. But what are they really talking about. Wind mills? Photo cells? Are they really any greener than what we already have? Are they better for preserving nature? What are these photo cells made of? What kind of industry produces them? How about the wind mills? What materials are used in these things. Are they safe and clean? Wind mills have to be place where there is wind. Don't birds use wind to travel during migration. If the blades of these thing hit a bird what happens? When you place a bunch of photo cells out that covers an area the size of a football field what happens to the trees and the grass that used to be there? How long do these things last? How do we dispose of the old ones? I remember back in the 70's and 80's being told that computers would eliminate the need for paper files, but now we have the same paper files plus we have old computers filling our landfills with dangerous materials. How many times have you got an e-mail and printed it out instead of just saving it? You still don't trust the memory of a computer, do you? So tell me what is so green about this new technology. The only green I see is the cash the government is willing to spend on it and the taxes we will have to pay for the Green.
